It's Been a While..

I know it's been a while...  such is the nature of my job.

On the workbench: Retribution of Scyrah Hydra Heavy Myrmidon

I've always hated how static the Retribution Warjacks insist on being so I took some liberties in creating a more dynamic pose for this Hydra.  I considered magnetizing it but I have no magnets with me and waiting a number of weeks for some isn't practical.  Of course it's pretty rough right now and in addition to not having any magnets I also forgot to bring any gap filling materials.  Doh.  The next step is figuring a way to make those  gigantic shoulderpads fit.  Bastards are so fussy it hurts my feelings..

Hopefully this guy will have at least a rough coat of paint by tomorrow.  I'll post pics as I make progress on this bad boy.

  1. I agree that the Myrmidons need to be more dynamic but I find them difficult to repose. Between their legs and the shoulder pads they are a pain to work with. I'm looking forward to seeing how this one works out.

    Please continue posting.

  2. My biggest beef with reposing the myrms lies in the bloody huge shoulder pads.

The legs? Annoying, but you can at least start working around them by cutting them. A cut, sand and pin job can work wonders. Occasionally that massive upwards-thrusting hip spur thing gets in the way, and frankly that kind of fails the sanity-check in a logic sense, but what the hell.

At least you can swap out forearms and get a hydra/manticore swap going on without a hell of a lot of trouble.
